#.1  Electric Buses in Switzerland Flash Charge in 15 Seconds

SUMMARY

Electric buses will become more convenient than before, because it is able to be charged in 15 seconds. Formerly, we used ugly power line which connects to the bus directly. But New Buses have battery system on the roof. Whenever the bus stands certain bus stop, it can be charged rapidly by using robotic arms and keep running all day. They also do not emit any harmful carbon and do not make a noise. Besides, each of buses can hold 133 passengers. They can be more cost effective, flexible, and environmentally friendly methods of transportation.

PERSUASIVE

How amazing it is. I think the weakness of electric vehicles is charging time and they are slower than gas engine. This system reduces charging time very much and the bus do not have to run very fast, so electric buses can be the most ideal public transportation. The most valuable point is that it is eco-friendly system. Because environmental pollution is becoming worse now, the increase of electric vehicles is positive. And we have more methods like using solar-power to make electricity than oil. Although it needs more time to use electric vehicles universally, I wish more studies and experiments are progressed and electric engine becomes preferred than gas engine.

#.2 Animal testing numbers down

SUMMARY

Since the Swiss animal protection law passed in 2008, the number of animals used in experiment has decreased steadily. Almost 50 percents of experiments was done in hospitals or institutes of educations. The experiments for pure research increased and for industrial research decreased. Nevertheless, animals are still used in severe experiment. Although animals are not used in tobacco and cosmetic testing, some animals are subject to test with strong pains. So, animal rights groups have criticized this law because it is not perfect for animals enough.

PERSUASIVE

I don't oppose the experiment itself using animals. I think the research that makes human's life better have to be progressed and it is impossible to experiment to human. As mentioned in article, however, if it is the experiment that gives strong pains to animals, we have to be careful because life of the animal is important also. Nevertheless, we don't have any method substituting animal experiments. If it brings social benefits to human, the experiment have to be approved I think. Both of them are important, So people have to do experiments based on enough pre-investigation and research to reduce sacrifice of animals

#.3  Print is mightier than the e-reader – for now

SUMMARY

E-books become more popular in the world and experts predict printed books become useless soon. but Swiss e-book market still do not grow fast. Actually, it is more complex to buy e-books than paperback because it has cumbersome online steps. And there is difference in price depending on language of book in Switzerland. Also it is more expensive to buy in foreign seller than in Swiss. And last reason is feeling of paperback. Fans of printed books often refer to this. People want to maintain the tradition of paper books. These are blocking the Swiss e-book market.

PERSUASIVE

I think it is useless concern. People use the printed book more than e-book now. Nobody near me also use e-books at now. We buy books in bookstore or rent books from library. Although e-book is more portable, printed books makes higher immersion. If I use my phone to read books, so many messages bother me I think. And printed book has more value of possession as book than e-book. First of all, people do not like to change familiar things to strange. People read printed books longer than e-book. So I think it is not bad for e-book market to grow slowly because it takes long time that e-book becomes popular.
